Another tryout. Trying something new...not sure I like it. Done. pls crit. The only thing I like is the face.

this is lacking in background /and/ a proper light source. the lineart is really nice, what little there is of it ( draw moar D8 ). try varying your brush width and working on different layers for different parts of the picture (skin on one, clothing on the other, hair on another, et cetera). :V

I, too, wish that there were more of those lovely lines. I had to learn the hard way for my art that it must be either all lines or no lines for it feel and look completed. The only thing that irks me is the collarbone. It seems too pronounced because of the shading. Also, try making the colours flow a little smoother. Let's see a background for the next one~! :)

I like how the blue gradates into the white background..gives it a mystic appeal... not all art needs a colour background to be beautiful you know. <3 (dunno if my critique counts cause I am still in the tryout phase, but wanted to post anyway..and if does not count as critique, then just a sweet comment) <3

I didn't worry about backgrounds, cause alot of other people don't really do much for them :v and I wanted to do his hair/clothes flat for a stlye-thing, but really detailed skin etc so you could tell I knew what I was doing as far as colour theory and light and such. It also draws attention to his face. I REALLY get the feeling that I'd tried out before xD

I like how you shaded the skin, it's subtle but could be a bit darker. And since it could be part of the style, I won't say anything about the shading on the clothes and hair. But if you didn't shade it just because you got lazy, uhm, it should have been. shaded. xD;

Also, try to make a full body tryout too, mkay? I'd love to see you put a lot of effort into your tryouts!!

i love this face. i don' think that the shading's too light - i just wish there was more of it. usually one would go and shade everything or shade nothing when making a picture because the choosing of just one area can lead to confusion and make the picture look less streamlined and complete than it should. i would also love to see a more expressive bg and some sort of full body shot. :)

His eyes are beautiful :X -swoon- I am with everyone else though. The shading on his face is stunning. There's no doubt in my mind you could do a FULL image to that caliber. One more tryout. Don't worry, even if you already tried out, your a shoe in. One more wont hurt :>
