A small sigh escaped Rose's lips, "I left that behind. With all my other things too. Maybe one day when I am big and strong I can come back and get them, that way I'll always have a way to remember my daddy." She squeezed his hand gently and willed herself not to cry at the thought of losing her most prized possession. She could not cry anymore, there was no way her body could produce tears to cry at a time like this - they were almost out anyway. Rose just willingly followed Arjun, hoping that they would be out soon - it would be nice to Constance and everyone else. Even Frederick, maybe if she got a closer look of his face, she could find small resemblances to Edmund.
Perhaps she could latch on to Frederick and Constance for a while, not too long, maybe a few nights. All she wanted was a warm bed and arms and bodies larger than herself to envelope her. I wouldn't be like sleeping in her father's bed, but she would be grateful for any similarity she could find. "I wouldn't mind being a mom," Rose said with a smile, feeling somewhat cheered up by the prospects of mothering, "I really like little kids. They are so cute and squishy. I would raise them right so that way I would have to nag. Do you wanna know how I learned that? I learned that by watching Charlotte and Jake. Aunt Connie is a good mom, bur she's not always attentive to what they do behind her back - and sometimes they are so awful to each other." She shook her head, her hair tickling her neck. "I don't know," Rose shrugged, "bein' a mommy doesn't sound that bad to me." ((First post on the last page! You guys ready for TYD:Present?!)) -------------------- |

[[hey guys, gonna wrap this up. if you feel like adding anything extra, by all means do so, but this is gonna be the ending post, ok? ;D]]
The fires reached into the sky, choking the sun with the greasy black soot. Here and there feeble attempts were made by the dying rays to puncture the grisly darkness, but the horrors below quickly devoured all in waves of madness and blood. The kingpriest's heart was within Tziel's grasp and the time for revenge was drawing near. With the heart, the god obtained power over the goddess of Order. With the heart, He could rule the world without opposition. With the heart in hand the world plunged into an eternal night. The goddess was overthrown and imprisoned far beneath the earth. The portal, the very one that had chained the Mad God for ages, held now the sun and all her might. The four elemental deities became both jailors and fellow inmates, holding the keys to Her release and yet still held in thrall by the Mad God. This, of course, meant that the defenders of Myr had not only lost the battle, but effectively lost the war on Tziel as well. Homes were smashed, the citizenry were being eaten or converted [or both], and the over all mood was not festive in the slightest. The last portal to Ezzvelzva, held open to allow for the valiant escape of the last and most noble of souls, had closed. In time, leaking tears between the world of Auloru and the world of Ezzvelzva would allow some Myrians to slip in and out. This also meant monsters and Tzielians could also breach the film between the two worlds, but they were not so keen on the moving from one essence to another. The Abomination was refitted and remade into a great Tower, and all naval vessels were forced into becoming ferries that moved cargo and people from the capital to the mainland on a regular basis. The reign of Ironblood was harsh, but fair considering the alternatives that the Myrians would have had. The Blessed Ones remained at a time within the Abomination, conferring with one another how things should be done, or what to burn in their wake. A small cat managed to wiggle his furry butt into the crevices at the bottom of the ship's destroyed hull, intent on reuniting with a loved one. Everything that the Myrians had worked hard for, everything that they sought to protect, had been razed to the ground. Hope was crushed beneath the heel of despair, and the likelihood of being saved was so low, even the worms were above it... --- And that, my firends, is the unexciting conclusion to the first part of A Thousand years of Darkness. I hope you all had a lot of fun, and that you'll join me when I open the next chapter in the Present. C= -------------------- My RP Characters:
